The Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro City, built in 1969 and hosted the first Palarong Pambansa outside Manila and so far the largest sports complex in Mindanao, is being proposed for redevelopment.
A video of the conceptual redevelopment plan was recently uploaded by LG+V Architects at its website HERE showing the proposal. As shown in the video, there will be major changes which includes a mall and boutique hotel, a spectators area at the existing open air basketball and volleyball courts, a parking building with a large digital monitor, a grandstand with roofdeck shops, a much larger swimming pool area with 2 olympic-sized pools, a covered basketball curt and multi-purpose hall, a much modern tennis court, badminton court and fitness area. Here are some screenshots of the video.

Whether this proposal will push thru, it certainly deserves a second look.
