Three (3) new parallel bridges are currently being constructed simultaneously as part of the ongoing road widening project from Opol to Laguindingan town in Misamis Oriental and in Cagayan de Oro City.
These projects are in anticipation of the increase in volume of road users in near future. The first parallel bridge is at Opol right in front of the Public Market. As shown, concrete piles have already been made on the west approach while pile driving is ongoing on the other side.
This new parallel bridge will serve eastbound vehicles as the existing bridge will cater to airport bound vehicles.
Meanwhile, the second parallel bridge is at the Bungcalalan River near the Apple Tree Resort junction. Initial piles were driven.
In Cagayan de Oro City, another parallel bridge is now also underway in Patag as shown.
This is also part of the Patag Road widening from 2 lanes to 4. In fact part of the road near Bulua has been widened to 4 lanes already with some trees already marked for removal.
