The upcoming Php 1.2 billion Verona Green Apartments in Uptown Cagayan de Oro by listed developer Italpinas Development Corp. (IDC) is named after the northern Italian city of Verona which was the setting of William Shakespeare’s literary masterpiece “Romeo and Juliet” as disclosed by IDC Chairman and CEO Romolo V. Nati. But did you know that in 2018, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro was planning to forge a sisterhood agreement with the said Italian city?
In a bid to promote mutual understanding and goodwill as well as technical exchange and cooperation on various dimensions of local governance, the City Council passed Resolution No. 13023-2018 which stated the city’s desire and interest for formal linkage between the city and Verona, a city in the northeastern part of Italy which has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture. As of this post, no sisterhood agreement has been signed so far. Read our post below.
