The initial funding allocation for the Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road Project (Gusa-Puerto Section) is now approved and preliminary earth filling works have been observed onsite. The 9.3-kilometer Coastal Road Extension will include five bridges and will connect to the National Highway at Puerto.
Shown below is the billboard installed onsite which indicates a total project cost of around P74 million. This is just an initial amount to jumpstart the whole stretch of the coastal highway extension which costs an estimated P9.5 billion.
The whole stretch will traverse existing private ports in the area including Gothong and MITIMCO in Baloy, and General Milling Corp. and Cagayan Corn Products Corp. in Tablon. We still don’t have specific details as to the proposed road layout in these areas. See the map below.
