
Three of five new priority infrastructure projects in Cagayan de Oro City are additional bridges crossing Cagayan de Oro River. These are the 4.66-kilometer Consolacion-Kauswagan Bridge and Access Road Project, the 430-meter Kalambaguhan-Vamenta Bridge and Access Road Project and the 2.8-kilometer Macasandig-Macanhan Bridge and Access Road Project.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-10) recently released Bid Bulletin No. 1 for the Conduct of the Feasibility Study of the 5 priority infra projects. The other 2 are the 9.0-kilometer CDO Coastal Road Extension (Puerto-Gusa Section) and the 6.0-kilometer Jct BCIR/Kinasanghan Iponan-Vamenta Blvd/Carmen connecting JR Borja Bridge Project.

Check out the initial route maps of the said bridge and access road projects below based on information gathered. NOTE: These routes are still subject to change during detailed engineering design once feasibility studies of the respective projects have been completed.
CONSOLACION-KAUSWAGAN BRIDGE AND ACCESS ROAD (4.66 KM) – will start at Kauswagan Highway Junction (Petron) and following St. Michael Street (NHA) and then Eagle Street (Kauswagan Proper) and then John the Baptist Street towards Pasil-Bonbon Road then across the river towards Consolacion area and finally at Brgy 23 along Julio Pacana Street.

MACASANDIG-MACANHAN BRIDGE AND ACCESS ROAD (2.8 KM) – will start at Mariano Velez Street (Macanhan Road) and then following interior road towards riverside and across the river to Macasandig area connecting to Biasong Tinib Road near Bell Church.

KALAMBAGUHAN-VAMENTA BRIDGE (0.43 KM) – will start at Junction Vamenta Boulevard (near SSS) and across the river towards Junction Burgos and Kalambaguhan Street.

Meanwhile, two under construction bridges are yet to be opened to traffic. The Macasandig-Balulang Bridge is now nearing completion but the Macabalan-Bonbon Bridge Project has temporarily ceased construction work.
