The Panguil Bay Bridge Project has finally resumed with the bathymetric survey which maps the underwater features now underway at the bay where the P7.4 billion bridge will be constructed.
The Namkwang-Kukdong-Gumgwang Joint Venture Construction which was awarded the project has commissioned Geotechnics Philippines Inc. for the underwater survey which began last week. Scuba divers from the Philippine Coast Guard and auxiliaries also assisted in the said activity. Other survey and monitoring devices were also installed at the site and data gathered after 15 days will be analyzed before civil works will commence.
The 3.7-kilometer 2-lane bridge will connect Tangub City in Misamis Occidental and Tubod town in Lanao del Norte and will dramatically reduce travel time between these two points from the present two-and-a-half hours to only 10 minutes.
