A city councilor is pushing for the revival of an old proposal to construct an alternate highway linking Puerto and Bugo in Cagayan de Oro City and Claveria in Misamis Oriental.
In his special report to the City Council last Monday, March 18, City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya said the plan was first brought up ten years ago by then City Councilor Juan Sia but encountered problems when three families in the area refused to sell their properties to the government. But now, the said families have accordingly softened on their stand and are now willing to negotiate with the City Government.
