The first mid-rise government housing project in Cagayan de Oro City has just been endorsed by the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Northern Mindanao during its recent meeting. The P964.92 million PAGATPAT RESETTLEMENT PROJECT will involve the construction of several 5-storey residential buildings within a 14.11-hectare area located at Zone 6, Sitio Pamalihan, Barangay Pagatpat which will provide housing to about 1,700 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 470 informal settler families (ISFs) in the city.
The RD Council approved to endorse the two components of the project to the central offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the National Housing Authority (NHA): the site and land development worth P78 million and the housing construction which will cost P854.28 million.
Accordingly, the Unified Project Management Office of the DPWH will be responsible for the site and land development including roads, drainage, and open spaces while the NHA will be responsible in constructing the five-story medium rise building for the housing units.
